Before & After: non-invasive renovation for home sellers

Buyers’ expectations have changed in recent years. Not long ago, it was easy to find buyers who wanted a “fixer-upper” in order to build sweat equity and maximize their return on investment. With interest rates remaining stubbornly high, many buyers can’t afford a fully renovated home -- but even people with modest budgets are reluctant to purchase a home that requires significant renovation.

Managing your money, and your time

As most experts will tell you, it doesn’t make financial sense to do a full scale renovation prior to selling your home. Unless you are a developer or design professional, you can easily spend more on updates than you will earn back when you sell. We address the issues we know buyers are focused on: sometimes it’s as simple as a coat of paint, decluttering, and cleaning windows. Sometimes we recommend painting kitchen cabinets or updating countertops and appliances. In every case, we keep to a strict timeline to make sure your home is ready for market as quickly as possible.

Renovate now, pay later

Homeowners can find themselves in a bind when it comes time to sell: even minor renovations and staging come with a steep upfront cost. As real estate agents, we are often able to absorb those costs until you close on your home.
